Sliding door sensor repair - has anyone used this kit?

Hi Folks,

Whilst away recently our auto-opening / closing door decided to stop working. Basically when closing there was a horrible sound and bits fell down from the upper roller bracket.

Just wanted to know if anyone has used this kit of parts to repair, rather than forking out £150 + the hassle of sliding door strip down to change out the upper roller complete with sensor? If so, was it easy to do - any tips?

Thsnks

I’ve just broken mine(well my 13 yo did) any help with how to change out the sensor holder would be very welcome.. can’t seem to find much on you tube etc

Hi, I did manage to replace just the sensor holder after it disintegrated one day, I started having issues with the door jumping back open when it was 3/4 closed! So I ended up changing the top sensor & roller assembly, then I did all rollers, plus the anti-pinch door seal complete.

Still having 3/4 jump back.. 😞 if anyone has any ideas?

Just found that pulling door past 3/4 then using internal door catch to electrically close the door, completes close.. odd!

I bought my parts via Ebay (genuine parts) and from lllparts.

Thanks

Thank you so much for this. I’ve currently had quotes for between £350-£464 for the work. I’m no electrician or a mechanic, but it feels like a lot of money.

If you're a bit 'handy' can do a bit of DIY or know someone that can help you, I did it - you can too.🙂. I'd prefer to pay for jobs I can't manage.
