Sliding Door - Closed Signal Error

Can anyone help with this as I’m at a loss what do do.

On Carista I get a recurring error - 03303 - “Feedback lock status, left door rear: implausible signal”

Symptoms -

When I unlock my van via fob the interior light comes on and stays on as it thinks the rear barn door is open when it’s not. If I lock the van the light goes off as it should. So the issue is with it thinking the door is open.

Remote central locking works fine from the fob and the interior lock/unlock button on the drivers door also works fine.

I’ve double checked the barn door is actually locking and it is, the van just thinks it’s open if it’s unlocked.

Any idea what I need to check? Or replace?

Thanks

03303 - “Feedback lock status, left door rear:
That's not about barn doors. On Transporter it's sliding door on left. Need to read the fault description being about passenger cars. The equivalent for cargo doors would be something like "03442 - Return Message Closing Status of Rear Lid"

the van just thinks it’s open if it’s unlocked.
What exactly you mean - seen as open on dash display?

What kind of van it is exactly - T5, T5.1, T6, T6.1, T7 - they all are different? Full scan report would be more than helpful.

Thanks for coming back, sorry I should have noted it's a T6 140 BMT 2016. Its also a startline so no dash display showing doors open.

When you say full scan report, is that something I can do with Carista? I don't have access to VCDS.

Before the issue, if the van was unlocked and I opened a door the interior light would come on, then when I closed the door it would go off (light set to door open). Now, as soon as I unlock the van the light comes on and stays on. It's as if it thinks there is a door open when there is not. This is an issue as its a camper, I need to change the light settings to off to stop them being on all the time.

PS - I've changed the thread title to sliding door based on your feedback, just in case anyone searches for a similar issue in future

Yes, Carista can do it. "Detailed ECU info"-report (under Carista Service menu).

Interesting - mine has been always as yours "now" - interior lights come on when unlocking. However, without opening a door the van locks itself in 30 seconds (and lights turn off).

Its also a startline so no dash display showing doors open.
Do the indicators flash when you lock the van - which would indicate that all doors are closed?

Ok ill do this and post it here

Sorry yes, my interior lights come on when unlocking and without opening a door the van locks itself after 30 secs and lights go off. But if I unlock the van now, lights come on, open any door, close it, lights now stay on for prolonged period even though door is closed

yes usual double flash unlock and single flash lock

OK just went out to the van and double checked current situation -

Unlock van - Double flash of indicators
Lock van - single flash of indicators

Unlock van - interior lights come on - 30 seconds later doors lock and lights dim
Unlock van - interior lights come on - open door - close door - 30 seconds later lights dim

Van already unlocked and ignition off - open door and lights come on - close door and 30 seconds later lights dim
If the ignition is on or the engine is running - open door and lights come on - close door and lights dim instantly

Is this normal behaviour? Now doubting myself. I thought before the lights were dimming instantly with ignition off when the door closed

haha well that was a pointless thread by me! Thanks for your help though, much appreciated.

The more I'm thinking about it though it definitely wasn't acting like that previously which led me to doing the Carista scan in the first place. I wonder if the fault could be causing intermittent strange behaviour?

I wonder if the fault could be causing intermittent strange behaviour?
Fault codes:
03303 Feedback lock status, left rear door: Implausible signal
Strange behaviour because of the fault would be that the sliding door sometimes doesn't unlock by keyfob. Possibly triggered also by door not locking but that would be also noticfied as indicators not flashing (ever needed to press button again to lock?).
Unfortunately Carista doesn't show fault frequency counter which would give good idea how often the fault happens. But if you haven't noticed sliding door misbehaving...

Yeah never noticed any issues with the door itself or the locking and unlocking, its purely been lights. Im almost sure the light was staying on with the engine running when I closed the door and I had to turn the light off at the switch to make it go off. I let too much time pass before tonight though and now can't remember the detail properly.

It seems to be fine just now so I will reset the code and keep an eye on it. Thanks again!
