Electric sliding door issues

Hi folks,
So I'm after some guidance/help, please - this evening our electric driver's side rear door started making an unpleasant scrawling/grinding sound when I pressed the dash button to open it. It didn't open fully, and when I went to close it the noise was worse and the door didn't close; after several presses of the key fob button, it opened/closed less and then I saw the cable in the photo drop down. After lots of button pressing, more scrawling noises and manual pulling of the door I finally got it forced closed so I could lock the door overnight.

I have an RAC Platinum warranty that I'm hoping will cover this fix, but can anyone give me an idea if this is an easy DIY fix, a straightforward fix for a garage, or a time-consuming, expensive fix?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like one of the rollers has failed/is failing. Not had this myself, but there's plenty of folks on here who've DIYed a replacement roller. Have a search for "replacement door roller".

I’d be very surprised if your warranty will cover it. However, it is a DIY fix if you’re competent at DIY. Have a look at YouTube for vids on how to access.
