Hey Nick

The door switch is part of the side door lock.

and connects to the van via the contacts on the sliding door and main pillar.

No van to take a pic ATM . . . . . . but . . . .

So give the contacts a clean and give the lock a good TAP.

OEM Data below:

Removing contact strip
– Unscrew bolts -2- and pull contact strip -1- out of B-pillar -3-.
– Disconnect electrical connector.
Removing contact module
– Unscrew bolts -5- and pull contact module -4- out of sliding door -6-.
– Disconnect electrical connector.
Installing
Install in reverse order, but note the following:
– Screw contact module -4- with bolts -5- finger-tight to sliding door -6-.
– Close sliding door -6- once.
The contact module -4- is then centred by the contact strip -1- in the B-pillar -3- .

and remote lock mechanism.

and the leccy bits look something like this,

.

If all that fails, it may the switch faulty in the lock mechanism.

which on a 2017 van would mean a warranty visit to the dealers for a replacement door lock unit. as replacing the internal switch will be a nightmare.

Hopefully no trip to main dealer needed

Update...
Removed rear catch lock on side loading door (2 torx type screws)
Sprayed microswitch with brake cleaner , heard a klonk.

Put back together , and hey presto
Fixed ..
Thanks @Dellmassive

I know this an old thread but in case anyone finds this using the search like me, I had the same problem but after pulling the door apart and spraying the lock mechanism I found the problem was the micro switch mounted on the van body itself next to the rear catch for the sliding door. Ended up having to pad it out a couple of millimetres so it triggered the door closed reading.
