Developed some pretty grotty rusting in my, mainly offside side skirt bar. Shall look to swap them over for some matte black stainless steel ones at some point, but no bloody wonder they rust from the inside, there’s a hole next to the mounting plate to wave the water in .

Half a job, VW!!

I tried to get them off and couldn't get the nuts loose .

Some sort of spray oil may help.

If not re-using, a nut splitter works well!

I had this with mine, found out that the cleaning stuff I used (traffic film remover) stripped the protective coating off therefore causing rust....
