In picture,
they have already a full winter season, plus some 1k miles this fall, on the shoulders.

Maxxis Vansmart A/S AL2 215/60/17C 109/107 H
on ALCAR 7J17 -56 steels (not original VW).

Four seasons snowflake, 252.00 EU incusive VAT each, the complete wheel mounted and balanced delivered at my door by Reifendirekt.

Spartan stuff I would say, nothing for the show, cheap by our standards, one of the few that fit my T32 car papers (must be HR in this size).

But they handle well, actually more silent than the original summer 16" Dunlops. They take maybe a 5% diesel more, thogh. Mostly HW or main roads drive, often up in the Alps.

I would probably buy something better lke the Dunlop or the Goodyear (@ +50%) but my dear VAG dealer gave me the car (used) steet unlegal with (very used) summer tires on last November and I needed it prompt for work, so I had to provide faster.
Considering that in November there are still km long queues by the tire specialists, that was a practicable solution, since I am fully equipped for installing wheels.

Overall I must say I am happy with them.

Hint, I give them a pass with wax sealant every winter to try to keep salt and rust away.

@jimthevan What are those wheel nut you have there pal? Are they actual nuts or covers?

Looking at some Katos and want black nuts.

Also a question for everyone....I have read a lot of threads and still can't fully undestand the real world difference and reason for choosing 235 over 225 or vice versa - is it just looks or are there any real performance differences and reasons you choose one over the other?

T30 long wheel base with full camper conversion going to CRS prior to fitting the wheels so assuming Steve will be able to fit either of these easy enough. I'm currently on Stance + coilovers which are just too low, so although it will be slightly lowered from stock by CRS...it'll be higher than it currently is.

I'm going to flip a coin to decide between....

Falken Wildpeak 235/65/17 108XL H (or 225 version Falken Wildpeak 225/65/17 102 H)
OR
Michelin CC2 SUV 235/65/17 108XL W (or 225 version Michelin CC2 SUV 225/65/17 102 H)

I know I need at least 101 load rating which all these tyres have and even the H speed rating is plenty for my 110bhp van - Its really just the 225 vs 235 thas has me unsure.

Any advice/experience appreciated. Thanks.
what did you choose in the end?

These look fantastic. What offset are they? Do they fill out to nearer the arch edge than stock tyres, rather than being more “tucked in”?
