Rusty Lee vs Alpine bed

Hi all,

Further to my recent post about being in a pickle with my RnR bed, I’ve narrowed my choice down to two. Either the Rusty Lee 3/4 isofix model (floating front, no legs) or the Alpine 3/4 model (again, no legs, floating front)

The alpine has the option for a nice drawer system to be added which would be useful and would save me building one for the rusty lee setup which is a bonus.

Does anyone have any experience with either of the above beds and would mind sharing your thoughts on ease of use, build quality and comfort?

Cheers,
Dan

Never heard of the Alpine, got a link ?

There you go buddy 👍
We're in a similar position. I was considering a Rusty Lee rock n roll bed, but the Alpine one looks good, and they're only down the road from us.
Have you found out any more info, or chosen one yet?

Hey there,

Both look like really nice beds, have had great communications with Alpine and rusty lee about viewing the workshop and testing a bed for comfort etc, so no problems there. If you’re close to alpine, you’ll probably be close ish to rusty Lee too as they’re only in Hereford.

Currently trying to decide whether to reupholster the cheap bed we’ve got with decent foam or convert to an L shape setup for just under half of the cost of a new bed. I’m not sure if I can justify £2k on an all singing all dancing one, considering I’m rocking a T5.1 at the minute. Yes I could remove the bed when the van bites the dust etc, but 2k is a lot of money these days 😂

What are your thoughts on your situation?

Thanks for the reply. We've just bought a T6 that has a basic homemade bed setup in the back (no seating), and we need a rock n roll bed with seatbelts for the kids.

We're 10 miles from Alpine and about 50 from Rusty Lee.... so I've emailed Alpine to see if we can go and check out the Alpine Storage Recliner 3/4 bed (2 seater).

@danstar33 An update for you... We looked at the Alpine rock n roll bed on Saturday. I really like it, and the build quality seemed great. BUT... the seat height was too high for us, which meant there wasn't enough headroom for my teenage son (I'm guessing he's around 5'9"). And I definitely couldn't sit back there at 6'6"!!

From the floor to the top of the cushion seating, it measured about 52cm. So the hunt is back on for something a bit lower.
