Ride Height Survey

I’ve been playing with the height of mine this week.

Vehicle Type: 2018 LWB Shuttle
Load Rating: T32
Ride Height Front: 340mm
Ride Height Rear: 350mm
Front springs: Solow Low
Rear springs: Solow Low
Dampers: Solow Low
Anti-roll bars: Factory
Wheel Size: 19”
Tyre size: 245/45/19
Tyre model: Michelin Pilot Sport 5
Normal load: Caravelle floor and rear bench
Comfort: Good. Pleased with it. Not perfect but it’s a van lowered 120mm. It’s a lot better than you’d think.

I’ve just had to raise it slightly to that height, as with the 15mm rear spacers I have on the OSR tyre was rubbing on the bulge in the arch liner. Fine in a standard van, but as this is a Shuttle with aircon in the rear that bulge houses the aircon pipes. So something to bear in mind in your Caravelle before you put spacers on.

I’m a bit gutted as I liked it lower. I’ll have to see how I get on with it like this before I decide whether to take the spacers off too. I rarely carry people in the back but removing the aircon isn’t really something I want to do.

Interesting. I'm down a similar height with a LWB Caravelle, 8.5*20 wheels, et56 with 30mm rear spacers and 255/40 tyres. Even loaded with 500kg in the rear I get no rubbing.

Got Bognor Motors to swap my STX from the old T6 kombi to my new T6.1 Shuttle and lower the front a tad more so now it measures 385 front and 385 rear, it sits so nice!

Still on the 17s until I’ve painted the 20s

Hi from Norway. I see that in your country you have a wider range of lowering with coilovers on the T6. Can anyone tell me which set is the lowest of the H&R Twin-Tube and the Koni/Eibach Max Low?

T6.1 2.0 TDI 6speed 150 T30

Sorry I missed this post at the time

It isnt always good to assume that a kit designed to do a certain drop will be good

The H&R kit will do 50 to 80 mm ,BUT it has the shortest shock of all the brands and that is why it rides so well , There are kits avaiaible that claim to do 90mm plus . but the struts are longer than our H&R ultimate kit , Ride has to be poor , no getting away from this

There fore take some sales patter with a pinch of salt as they say !! . Its travel that is important not how much adjustment the shock has left

Vehicle Type: 2021 EU6 T6.1
Load Rating: T30
Ride Height Front: 410mm
Ride Height Rear: 395mm
Front springs: H&R
Rear springs: H&R
Dampers: Koni
Anti-roll bars: Factory
Wheel Size: 17
Tyre size: 235/65 17
Tyre model: Falken Wildpeak
Normal load: fully carpeted & sound deadened. Don't carry any real weight yet. Perhaps Ovano system & towbar to follow
Comfort: There is a slight firmness, but with a soft edge. Better than stock suspension by a long way. Very surprised how it will hold a line on fast sweeping bends

Can I ask if you have any rubbing on this set up? Also do you know what the wheels ET number is?

I’m glad it’s not just me with this obsession!

For reference, currently;

Vehicle Type: T6.1
Load Rating: T32
Ride Height Front: 400mm
Ride Height Rear: 410mm
Front springs: Not sure, CRS did the work!
Rear springs:
Not sure, CRS did the work!
Dampers: as above.
Anti-roll bars:
Factory
Wheel Size: 20
Tyre size: 245/45
Tyre model: Bridgestone Potenza
Normal load: Not much, 5 people and maybe 150kg of equipment.
Comfort: Firm but comfortable, I don’t race around corners but the van feels planted, 100% better than stock it no longer crashes over bumps.

However, I’m looking to change the look and go with 235/65/R17 ET35 Oz Rally Legends with Falken wild peaks. My only concern is rubbing as th tyre is a bit bigger, not much but I do share the obsession! Any comments are welcome

No rubbing at all but I totally get the obsession buddy. My wheels are 8.5J ET34. The OZ Rally Legends are an awesome looking wheel.

Cheers bud, yours is very similar but just concerns about rubbing. Do you find any difference on taller gearing at all?

You doing something similar ?

There is a slight difference evidenced by Waze and my speedo, but its minimal and the benefits outweigh that in my opinion.

Depending on what kit you have from CRS it is highly likely that we can lift the van up and this will help any potential rubbing issue

@CRS Performance did my suspension upgrade. I was advised to have adjustables on the back which was a great decision.

Oh and I double checked my speedo with my actual speed. At 30mph im actually doing 28.1mph
