Revert to original ECU map

Hi all, and Happy New Year.
Does anyone know how to revert the ECU back to its original factory map. Will it require another map or is the original still there and can be reset?

The original is normally over written.

The guy that done it may have taken a copy of the original?

Maybe a remap company has a stock map to load on?

Appart from that it back to VW for an engine ECU flash.

Hi, as a REVO dealer, we would install the 'stock' map which will overwrite the map you already have on there and revert the vehicle back to stock.

Was done by previous owner, I feel it unnecessary and found that he has deleted DPF

Before you revert you could do with finding out why he had the dpf delete carried out.
If it was in need of replacement then once you go back to standard ecu map you’re likely to need the dpf replacing or specialist cleaning. The costs could start to mount up.
I think that if you have a dpf delete the. You either have to replace it with a straight exhaust pipe or have the dpf internals removed and then welded back together so it looks original for the mot.

Thanks for all the advice, I've discovered the DPF is infact split, which explains the exhaust fumes smell in the cab. Guess that's why it's deleted on the map, previous owner probably considered it cheaper to do that then replace the DPF itself. Still would have been nice of him to tell me. Its had a failed attempt to weld it, so I'm weighing up my options.

Maybe it has been ‘split’ because it’s blocked? Putting a gash in it would relieve the back pressure. I can’t imaging it splitting by itself, the engine would stop running before the pressure got high enough to split the casing.
I’m surprised you can smell exhaust fumes in the cab I would have thought they would be dragged out under the van when on the move.
Check that the EGR pipes are not split, very common issue.
