Reverse light misery.

Do you know where the trailer module is? Try unplugging it

I've also tried that, its a CFC one, all lights up as it should as well, i looked upnwhat the lights meant within its manual, its very strange.

Hmmm they don’t usually have lights on. Can you post a pic?

If you have VCDS you could do a block map dump to see what the ECUs are reporting with reverse gear engaged (and to see if it thinks a trailer is attached etc)
eg
BCM ECU

Trailer ECU
1760560284796.webp

They do normally light up.

Have you tried disconnecting / reconnecting the 12v battery

Just a thought, i have fitted LED number plate lights and it throws a warning on the dash, would it be worth putting the halogen ones back in to rule out any interference?

I'm assuming that the light on the module only indicates the health of the tow bar wiring and not the original reverse light wiring. It could be a break in the wire in a section not monitored by the module ie. the original reverse light wiring?

I didn't think number plate lights were on the monitoring circuit? Not on my t5.1 anyway .
Is on my 6.1 bud

Very possible, the van still knows its in reverse though, sensors work and the discover media screen also changes.... driving me crazy now

I will give that a go, lost light earlier, am i right in thinking i can put it reverse with just the batrery on and the light should come on?
Have you done it yet?

- Did you take your van for its MOT anyway, or are you fixing the reversing light first?
