Replacing rear double bench with 3 seats - missing floor fixtures

My T6 Kombi has a rear double bench fitted, I'm the 2nd owner but believe it was spec'd like this. I've got my first child on the way so I need 3 seats in the back (the dogs take up two).

I had initially thought it was a straightforward job of replacing the double bench with a 3-seater bench, but the floor fixtures are in the wrong place. There's also no visible fixture for a single seat to be added. Image of the current fixtures attached (yes it needs clean).

So my question is - are the fixtures likely to be there underneath the floor if not can they be fitted?

The position of those mounts suggests that you either have the mounts for a single 2 seater bench only.

You would either need the mounts for the additional seat, to fit an extra single, or move your existing mount to be able to mount a triple bench.

No. You'd see them poking through the load mat.
As above, they can be fitted but you would need the fittings, hardware and the correct reinforcing plates for underneath.

Thanks for the replies, I did think that might be the case. Can see this being a bit more expensive than anticipated!

Again, as said above by @ChestnutBrown you can move one or both of the mounts you have. You'd just need the correct plates and accept that you'll have holes left in the mat from the existing positions.

Edit. If you went for a 3 seat bench.

Thats a very strange setup you have there, im not aware of any factory configuration that allows you to order on two seat in the rear, it is possible to order the rear seats in the LHD setup which would put the double on the left like you have it but it would come with all three

I think its highly likely someone has added those rear seats to a PV

Im intrigued, send me your VIN and i will look it up

Yep somebody has mentioned that to me before - I didn't realise when I brought it, the slider is on the drivers side as well. Definitely a Kombi from the factory - the original order paperwork that i've got states that as well.

Likewise the bench is listed as a line item "2-seater driver side fixed bench with armrest".

Will DM you the VIN

All load mats start the same full cover and the holes punched to suit the seat configuration.
So if the full-width load mat is already installed, would a single chair work so a 2+1 config, keeping my current bench in place? Provided I can find somebody to punch new holes in the load mat.

By the looks of it you have a LHD Kombi seat so you need either a LHD single Kombi seat or a right hand single seat from a Shuttle (they have 3 individual seats). Plus 4 floor brackets, brace plates and a seat belt.

This side of the vehicle is much easier to fit seats - no fuel tank to drop when drilling the floor.

I added some more floor brackets to give flexibility with the seating - if you’re handy with spanners / good at DIY its fairly straight forward…

The other option is to fit just two extra floor brackets and fit a triple bench, which would utilise two of your existing brackets which are already in the right place. Just means you dont have to swap the flooring. Still need strengthening plates / extra seat belt but probably a cheaper (slightly) route to get your 3 seats.

Personally, I think the 2/1 gives better flexibility and the triple bench is F heavy - definitely a two person lift! The single also tips forwards to enable access to the cargo area which may become an issue when you fill the gap with a seat!

This pic hopefully shows the location of the extra brackets needed for the triple bench option (aligned with the yellow sticker on the RU box). Your van will be a mirror image of this. I fitted the extra brackets to give seat configuration flexibility.
