Replace handbrake cable

I need to replace my handbrake cable. The thread on the end of the cable where it adjust on the actual lever has been stripped as such I need to replace the entire cable. The cable exits through the floor covering, through to the underside of the van.

Any idea please guys?

Much appreciated

If it’s just a small section of the cable end that‘s stripped can you not fit a piece of tubular spacer over the damaged part and use the good thread?

Thanks for your idea., much appreciate.
No as the previous owner had swivel seat bases fitted, with a handbrake lowering bracket. When the handbrake was adjusted they have cross threaded all the way down. I could relocate the bracket which would expose more thread, cut off the cross threaded part in the hope that the nut will hold. However that’s not guaranteed and expect I’ll end up back at this point so may as well replace the cable.
