Removing tracker found in van

Any guidance on how I should remove this tracker found in the cab headliner? The original owner of the van was a rental company and therefore I assume it was installed by them. I want to remove it as it is draining the battery.

Wire 1 from tracker is red and is connected to a single wire on the factory loom going into the central light.

Wires 2 and 3 from tracker are black and green and appear to go into another single wire on the factory loom.

Can I just cut wire 1 and wrap in some electrical tape or a single Wago connector?
And cut wires 2 and 3 and put in a dual wago connector wrapped in electrical tape?

Or do I need to cut above the heatshrink and rewire each of the 3 connectors back into the clip that goes into the light?

Any guidance in the easiest way to get rid of this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Assuming I'm seeing that photo correctly, You can just cut all 3 wires from the tracker as close to the crimp connectors and wrap them up in insulating tape to prevent them shorting on anything.
