Releasing seat belt tension?

This is probably a very easy question, but I’m a bit stumped. Easy answers much appreciated.

I’m installing the seat belts for my new 3rd row seats. Panels are off and I’ve found all the relevant holes on the body. Problem is that when I try to extend the belt from the roller, it’s locked. I’ve tried easing the belt and gently pulling at various angles, but the ratchet remains on. Is there a manual release that I’m not seeing? Or some other trick to this?

So to answer my own question, it’s a case of holding the roller at the perfect upright angle. It just took me a hundred pulls and an install/uninstall to figure it out.

Carry on
