Position Of Slider?

I am looking to get some side windows installed, fixed on the sliding door and a sliding window on the off side.

The converter close to me seem to put the slider in a different part of the window to most I have seen.

Like this (opening bit at the rear):

Whereas most I have seen are the other way round (opening bit at the front):

Picture for example.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage or is it just a matter of preference?

To my mind. It’s easier for a rear pax to open and close a front slider, your not reaching over your shoulder so much. ( depending on where the opening mechanism is )For a camper conversion possible rear as it would be easier to open when cooker/sink lids are open..I’ve got a front slider in the t5 camper and have only opened it to make sure it works and if I was converting a PV I would fit plain glass; there is plenty of ventilation from the pop top roof vents or the driver door windows

Thanks both, I am converting a panel van, but not sure if I will put a pup top in. I thought I had to have 1 slider if I put a cooker in the van. (I'm not 100% sure about this but think its better just in case.)

Edit: There wont be any passenger seats so thats not a concern.
