We've booked a trip to the South of France near the Spanish border in August and im taking the caravan and Im expecting it to be quite hot. Im after any suggestions for a queit portable air conditioner to suit. I think the temp will be in the 30s so need something to stay on overnight to keep us and the dog cool. I've seen loads on Amazon but not sure which one to go for. I dont really want to spend near 2k for a dedicated caravan one even though they do appear to be the best ones to get. Any help would be grateful.

Ac is super power hungry,.... So no good if you have battery only.

Assuming your have EHU, . . . Then look at the EcoFlow AC unit. For a small size and weight.

Apart from that you will be looking at a small domestic unit.... But they are bulky and heavy.

It will get hot in August (VERY HOT) in Spain, but we have not needed a air con unit so far. As long as you stay up in the mountains or on the top end of Spain on the coast line you should be fine. If you going to be 99% of the time on EHU then just buy as Dellmassive shows a basic home portable air will work. We just have 3 or 4 12volt large fans and they work fine and we sleep up top at night.

Its in a caravan, so a bit bigger but still mindful of noise at night. We're going to be near the coast so hopefully it will be cooler but still hot. I dont mind the heat but the wife is gonna moan more than usual and then we have the dog to keep cool.

Midnight swim will keep you cool until day break.
The Spanish will be halfway through dinner at that time so no chance of sleeping anyway

Not sure your choosen camping EHU will be able to supply all that power anyway.
It is too long I do not camp in Spain,
but i.e. in Italy many places are limited to 6 A - 1500W.
Never felt the need of one on the seaside, even very South. An open window suffices to me.

Many are limited to 4A especially on the cheaper aires where people turn up once a week and try and use more than they pay for.
Don’t rely on electricity in Europe if you want to cart big consumers around in your van.
Have to wonder when the first van dishwasher thread will appear.

Haha that's what I say to him. Its a small thing. Not like its a big 7kg washer!!!
