Poor sound quality via USB android auto

I’ve got a couple of questions about AA...
When connected via USB the music quality is noticeably worse than via Bluetooth, how can I fix this?
And
Is it possible to use AA without the USB connected? There’s an option in the settings menu for this but it doesn’t allow...

This is on a 2020 340 swb with the newer head unit

If you have the standard VW radio it’s USB connection or nothing .....

Just to add, after paying for car play activation yesterday I too have this problem. Far lower volume and poorer quality when on car play via USB vs Bluetooth streaming.

If anyone has found a solution to this I would be over the moon, hard to fathom why a direct USB tether would provide a lesser quality connection than a Bluetooth streamed one.

I’ve got a 2012 Volvo as well ATM and it’s fair to say the Bluetooth play back is far superior to the 2017 T6 I have

VW may well be burying their heads in the sand, but they need to take this on board as a proper issue

i have continuing issue with car play too, despite a new phone and new cable

carp is the only description I can give

The CarPlay even with an iPhone is pants. The sound quality and volume by normal Bluetooth (not using car play) is night and day better

Yep, as with pretty much everything £££ eases the strain!!!

I tried my friends iPhone and lead. Using the same track, we felt it was better quality than Android as well as my android via Bluetooth.

I am surprised more people aren't complaining
