Has anybody ideas to what this could by?? VW had had it twice. They’ve replaced slide door and rear door unit.

We’ve recently had a pop top fitted and our roof led units relocated. These issues seem to coincide with the pop top being fitted, but we’re unsure why it would cause the issues were getting.

You need to scan for codes to see what is triggering the alarm....and possible fault codes.

Possible roof loom Damage from pop top fitting.? The door circuits and pin switches?.... a wire fault may be telling the van a door is opening, which will turn on the interior lights and trigger the alarm if it's set.

Have you got access to Carista or VCDS?

Hi, so we have Carista. We scanned yesterday, and nothing came up. However we scanned today, and got code 03435 terminal 30 for inside light/parking light. When we scanned the 2nd time the map light bulbs weren’t in only the main interior bulb was fitted. We had removed LED bulbs, and replaced with the original bulbs bad the map light bulbs as they’re missing. So no sure if this was why we got the code.

What/Why did VW replace the door assemblies? - for this same issue? . . . Was this before/after poptop?

Is the alarm going Off when it's set?

What's happening with the interior light?

We need more specific details.

Got any pics? . . . . . We love pics on T6F.

So got van back from pop top company and the barn door was showing as open on MFD. The alarm sounded twice that night. The interior lights remained on when we were driving unless we turned them to off position. Vw replaced parts on the barn door under warranty as some electrical part was faulty. Barn doors showing as closed on MFD now. We had the van back two days from VW and noticed the interior lights were back intermittently when the van was sat, open or locked and when driving. The alarm was sounding through the night. Pressing the b pillar button or the fob didn’t work. We also noticed the slide door intermittently didn’t open using the key fob, so they’ve replaced something there too, and that’s now working fine. So all doors now operating correctly and showing closed MFD, however interior lights are still randomly going off and one when engine is running and the alarm is sounding when the van is left parked up secure. We even took all the interior door bulbs out to see if that helped. But the alarm still went off.

Sounding like a possible damaged loom, crushed or screwed by pop top.

Vcds or other will show the last 5 or 10 alarm activations that will point in right direction.

Main dealer can check that too.

Lights on might be intermittent sort to ground in the loom.

@DaveyB had a similar poptop/cable damage.

Take back to roof fitter to fix, or take to a another converter/place to check the roof loom?

Hi,
Just an update. We’re fixed!!
Turned out to be two issues. Firstly the led cab lights. When the roof had been fitted, there had been a short, causing the intermittent ground. That seemed to reduce the frequency of the alarm. The fitter then got someone with a VAGcom (think that’s what it’s called) who then diagnosed back door issues. (This explains why it got really bad after vw fixed the back door) so they guys sorted that also. I couldn’t fault the fitters at all. So thorough fixing everything.
