Pin insertion in to connector

Hi folks.

I'm trying to insert this repair wire into the T10 connector at the bottom of the E-box

In does not want to go into the connector, been at it over an hour now.

Never touched VW wiring before, complete novice. Are any tools required to insert a pin into the connector? Am I missing something? Or should it slot right in there?

Any help greatly appreciated

You need to remove the wedge that locks all of the pins in place first. The pinky-red bit on the face of the connector.

Then push your pin in, then re-insert the wedge lock.
