These two seem to be the 'go to' H4 upgrade bulb.

Any user comments or feedback for either?

TIA

Ok, ummed and arrrred about Phillips Racing Vision or Osram Night Breaker Lasers and have plumped for H4 Osram Night Breaker Lasers

Checked out online reviews, tests and videos of both bulbs and it appears that they both have very similar performance in terms of brightness, colour temp and beam pattern/reach etc.

Popped them in earlier today and will check 'em out this evening.

So, are the Osram Night Breaker Lasers any good?

Initial thoughts: they are a noticeable improvement over the OEM Osram H4's fitted.

So trying to be objective, they are brighter, they are 'whiter' or less yellow/orange and the beam pattern/spread also appears to be enhanced.

Driving on unlit rural roads I was happy (for the first time) to drive on dipped beam - I could actually see where I was going - where as in the past with the OEM bulbs as soon as I had the opportunity to switch to main beam I did.

The beam pattern seems to be improved and throws more light on the near side verge, kerb etc. much better than the OEM bulbs.

The colour temp of the light remains on the yellow side of white (as opposed to 'blue' or 'cool' white from Xenons and LEDs) but it is still an improvement over the OEM bulbs.

The 'dark patch' 2metres in front of the bonnet remains but I think this is more to do with the physical positioning of the headlights than the bulb performance.

So would I recommend the Osram NBL? Yes absolutely.

Inherently an 'old skool' H4 filament bulb is not likely to approach the performance achieved with more recent Xenon or LED technology

Would I prefer to have the OEM LED headlamps? Yes absolutely.

Hope this helps!

One thing I really hate is when manufacturers steal technology terms and use them as marketing labels when they dont contain that technology...

That'll be 'Laser' huh? Yes, the Osram NBL has not got one iota of genuine 'Laser' going for it.

Well apart from these two Osram NBL product highlight quotes:

Innovative laser ablation technology and precise window for better performance

Unique design with laser-etched product name and silver cap

But hey that's marketing for you...
