H4 Headlight Whitener...

Struggling to sift through the various posts on here and online in general to come up with an alternative non halogen (sickly yellow) DRL lamp to sit in the crinkly reflector and a sparkly non yellow side light bulb that sits below the H4 lamp.
I'm thinking that LED lamps at 4000K would be the colour temperature I'm looking for in the two lamp types as I'm a bit old for shouty 6500K bluey white, that criteria and trying to get LED lamps that won't set off the Canbus lamp out dash display mean I'm just spending hours going around in circles on the web.
In truth I'd like to put some brighter H4 lamps in too and they will possibly be Phillips Racing Vision halogens as the van doesn't get used every day so the shorter lamp life will be less of an issue and here I'm thinking the brightest colour temperature an halogen lamp normally gets to would be around 4000K.
Lot of waffle but any ideas kind people, cheers, Dave.

I've had the Twenty20 LEDs in for three years and no issues or errors, good price that.

@F2JON and @superflyguy When replacing the DRL bulbs, do you have to unclip the wires going into the bulb holder first in order to get the bulb holder out? Just had a look at mine, and although the handbook says it just turns and pulls out, they don’t want to come out!

Thanks gents, that lamp selection and the extra chrome I've just ordered for the front grille plus wheels and springs on their way means I shall soon have the van that VW should have built 18 months ago.

It must be a virus of some sort... why on earth buy a perfectly serviceable vehicle that you immediately start rebuilding?

They are stiff, I think I left mine clipped in if I remember, just don't tug that hard you break anything !!, I was talking about the bulbs

Ok I suspected these modifications were going to get more involved but flushed with success after sticking on my extra stainless steel strips on the front grille I thought I would have a look at swapping the H4 lamps out... is there a special tool required ie. a child sized hand that you can attach with velcro for instance to a normal shovel sized adult version to allow for a meaningful grip on the wire clip holding the lamp in place?
Failing that how have others tackled this job ie. remove additional plasticwork or do my hands need temporarily remapping?

Don't know why I was panicking as literally just by breaking the odd finger nail and cutting the odd finger I've put Philips H4 130s, the LED DRL bulbs and even the 501s in an LED form from Helfrauds and they work and no bulb out dashboard light drama, at this rate remapping the engine with my phone will be a breeze.
