Passenger door handle won't open from outside

Sorry to post if this has already been discussed... I'm in a December 2019 T6.1 and my passenger door handles has failed on the outside HOT weather.
It opens from the inside OK but not outside... I have fitted 'soundalike a golf' strips which may have put more pressure on the lock. Does anyone have any advice? I know about the recall for frozen weather just wondering if this is related and how to fix it before I go touring France. Opening the windows to get in is a pain for passengers

This thread - Link , has various doors, various temperatures (couple of vans in Australia with the issue in heat). Not sure it totally bottoms out all the faults but there are a couple of things to look at - the cable and a plastic clip apparently.

Thanks @Lubrown I have now taken the thumb part of the handle and looked at the handle and it works when I pull it out a bit so I am guessing the wire has stretched maybe just enough for it not to operate. So i'll have to see if there is a tightening option

There’s a screw in the lock side of the door that tightens it up. I’m not with my van so can’t show a pic

I've fixed it... took the cable off from the handle and twisted it a few times and refitted it...That was enough to provide the tension for it to work again... PHEW!
