P1440 & P0403 EGR codes

Afternoon all,

Hoping I can tap into the hive mind.

I've recently had the EGR replaced on my T6 (67 plate, 150, manual)

Originally there were no codes but I couldn't see anywhere in the service history it had been done so thought I had better bite the bullet.

Since getting it back I've had P040300 & P144000 codes active.

Has anyone come across this before?

P1440 - Open circuit -- thus ECU doesn't "see" the EGR valve electrically. Perhaps the EGR was simply left unplugged or wiring was damaged?

I assume you cleared the codes, and they then came back?

Yeah that's correct. I've seen conflicting information on needing to tell the ECU there is a new EGR via VCDS so that's the next port of call

Thanks for the response! Sorry been away with work and haven't had much time to respond. That seems to be the consensus, I can't see anything obvious with the connectors themselves, any recommendations on the best way to test wiring
