Does it clunk going over potholes?
No just on changing in a forward gear.
The van itself is a lovely drive, the gear changing smooth.
Does not rattle like others have mentioned.
I hope he didn't charge you for the privilege of misdiagnosis and not fixing it.
I'm afraid that's not a great deal of information.
You might want to tell us how many miles are on the clock.
Is it on factory suspension or modified?
Did the mechanic examine the whole van, including engine / gearbox mounts, or did he just jump to the conclusion that it was wishbones?
Does it do it in lower gears or all forward gears?
Do you feel it through the pedals, floor or steering wheel?
Would it clunk if you were stationary and you pressed the clutch while in first gear?
Would it do it on the over run, i.e decelerating in gear, or only when the engine is under load?
As always, the more detail you can provide the more likely it is that somebody here can help you.
Other than divorce solicitors I think auto mechanic is the only job where you can get away with promising one thing and delivering something else and the customer is still grateful.
