Hi,
We have a Caravelle T6 from october 2016, 375 000 Km. 2.0 TDI 4motion + differential lock. We use it 7 months / 35 000 Km per year on ice and snow (with specific tires).
That last oil change on the back of the transmission was made on June 2024 (+/- 50 000 Km).
Since 3 months, I hear a bad noise and I feel "jolts" (is it the right word?), coming from the back, pretty sure.
This is happening after I moved on a parking, doing reverse and turning.
Then, I go forward and immediately when I gently touch the brake pedal (just a very little), creaking noise is coming and jolts.
We checked brakes : everything is ok, power braking and balance between brakes.
I'm sure it's coming from the transmission.
I was at a VW garage 2 days ago, the mechanic saw this 1 time : he spoke to change oil, and clean the oil filter behind the oil pump (at the back, on the rear part of the transmission).
I asked to change the pump during the same time (we will do it in October when I will come back in my country).
If it's not fixing the problem, they said it's maybe the "clutch" in the Haldex : but it's forbidden to open it and change "clutch", so I have to buy a new haldex : 7200€ (so happy...).
And, yesterday, I thought about one thing, that I have read 15 years ago when I had a Audi S4 B5 (with Haldex) : maybe it's coming from my tires. but I checked, there is +/- 1mm less rubber than the back.
So not sure it's the origin of the problem (and I never had this problem in the past with more difference with older tires).
I will ask to a garage to exchange tires between back and front.
Please, do you have any idea or experience about this problem ?
thank you.
