I posted this question under another discussion but i will try again

I have spliced the thick main cable under the passenger seat and connected to the orion dc/dc charger. From there i have connected up a lifepo4 battery (IMP-RV12V175AH)

And after the battery a victron smartshunt

What should the voltage be fully charged? It says SOC 100% with 13.23 volt

Also im wondering if the smart engine shutdown setting is correct. It seems to be not charging all the time

And also is it the smart lithium (lifepo4) im suppose to use ?

Thanks again!

14.2v

But you need to check the sled is the battery.

The shunt may be Miss wired.

Post some pics of the install and we'll take a look

What's the van spec?

What is the sled? See attached for the hookup

On the dc dc charger the input i have used ground on chassi and positive from the spliced cable under seat

Output ground is on shunt load minus positive is on the battery

ah right. . .

you need to add another chassis ground.

from the SHUNT LOAD MINUS to the vans CHASSIS

.

OR

Just take BOTH Orion Negs to the same VAN CHASSIS ground, then add the extra cable from the SHUNT LOAD MINUS to the VAN CHASSIS ground,

you have this cable effectively missing . . .

I installed another ground from shunt load to ground chassi.

I took the car for a short drive and it does kick in if i turn on headlights and seatwarmer

But if i turn of Headlights and seatwarmer the voltage drops and it shut of again

See attached picturesIMG_2382.webp

After i turn of headlights and seatwarmer

And just a second after
IMG_2385.webp

And then when i drive like normal

harder than i originaly thought!

Its a 2020 T6.1 lefthand stear

Thanks!

You need to adjust the start charge voltage...

This is what I have set on my camper..

Massive thanks!

I have updated the settings, i took the car for a drive and it seemed to not work in the beginning. It was showing as charging but no amperes were going to the leisure battery…

But i restarted the car and took it for a proper drive today and it charges stable at just below 30A

Again! Massive thanks for help. And hopefully this will be useful for someone else in the future

I'm not a fan of the "engine shutdown detection" function. Too many variables, and you're never quite sure what's going on. The best way (IMHO) is the ignition /engine running live method. You know exactly what should be happening, and if it isn't, you have a better idea why not.

Yea i read through that but i never understood on how to connect up the engine running signal cable. Is there a easy way under the seat?
