Smart alternator charging

I have a T6.1 with a smart alternator, I have a Victron 12 12 30 non isolated DC DC charger setup to charge my 230ah fogstar underseat battery. I dont have any solar setup and as long as my dc charger does its job I am fine. Problem is at times the charger does not charge adequately and the dc charger shuts down due to low input. I am aware that this is an issue with smart alternator and am looking at running an ignition switched live to a voltronic D+ simulator and on to the H terminal on the dc charger. I will also shut down auto engine shutdown in tge victron app. Has anyone here done this or is there a better option. ?
 
What is this Voltron’s stimulator wizardry of which you speak? Just run an ignition switched live to the Victron H terminal, job done.
 
A switch to isolate the 12V ignition feed so you can simulate what's happening at the moment?
You could stick an inline fuse in but don't bother with a switch.

You can adjust the set point voltage at which it shuts down (engine shut down detection) in the app. had to do this with mine. Been fine since.

What have you set yours to. I read if it's too low starter battery can discharge ?
 
If I remember correctly, I spent a bit of time watching the voltages and adjusting by 0.1v at a time and settled on the screenshot attached.
