Oil level light on after servicing

Hello, seeking advice please.

Bought a second hand VW T6 4Motion, 2019 with 90k miles. It's been serviced and MOT'd but the oil pressure reads low intermittently. Diagnosed as an oil pressure switch fault, which was replaced with OEM parts and programmed at VW. Oil pressure still reads low but the vehicle runs fine mechanically without sign of leak. Mechanics seem to think it may just be a wiring issue, as they've troubleshooted mechanical issues.

Something to ignore? Or an impending catastrophic money pit?

An oil pressure light after a service can often mean a faulty oil filter.

Certainly not something id be happy about. If you're within 30 says I'd just chuck thenkeys back at them for a refund.

Cheers for the reply!

Faulty oil filter, even after an engine + oil service?

Would this be a right off for you? Dealer state they're happy to contribute to costs if I take it elsewhere to be looked at.

If you can I would be returning it for a refund. If it really is low oil pressure you don’t know what damage has already been done.

Cheers for the reply! Interesting. Everything else is absolutely sound, oil levels fine, no rattles or dinks, even the painwork is pretty much immaculate.

I was hoping to put it down to the fact it had been stood at the dealership for sometime.

This would be irredemable for you?

Personally I wouldn’t risk it- you are buying a second hand van that already has problems. Also you said the dealer would‘contribute’ to the repair costs’. They should be repairing it for free!! So yes- I would definitely walk away from it.

Exactly this. There are plenty of good used vans with no major issues, it's easier to go buy one of those instead.

Its faulty, and if you're within 30 days you can simply return it for a refund without the need to give them a chance to fix it. If there is an oil pressure problem it doesnt take long to do damage, so id be inclined to just walk awsy from if it were mine.
