Heating oil (Kerosene) has jumped in price from around 58p per litre to upwards of 90p a litre in the space of 3 days due to the Gulf conflict......

I'd be filling those van fuel tanks up sharpish !

Probably got enough in my domestic tank for a month or so.

Theyre thieving arrisholes - depending on the source it takes 4 to 6 weeks between oil coming out the ground and being delivered to the retailerr, so by rights we shouldn't be seeing any rises intil early to mid April. Profiteering excuses for human beings the lot of them.

Domestic heating oil seems pretty unregulated territory. No price caps, no contracts. Its the consumer who suffers and around my way, that's mostly pensioners in small inefficient stone built properties. I'm fortunate to be able to absorb the cost increase but there will be many who can't.

Fortunately we have a 2500litre tank which would see us through 2 winters at a push. I usually fill up in August when prices are down, we burn around 1200-1500 litres/ year.

It’s very weird how it takes months for the price to drop once the price of a barrel of oil drops because they say it takes time for the higher priced barrels to work their way through the production cycle…yet…when prices go the other way…there appears to be zero delay in this working through the production cycle…

Yes, when the US Fleet was heading toward the Middle East I got my tank topped up to the brim at 57p/litre.
Others were booking their flights to Dubai, I'm not sure they could point to it on a map though.
There’s a bloke regularly pops up on my FB feed extolling the virtues of the Dubai tax system, and asking why anyone would want to live in the UK. It’s ironic that UK taxpayer money is now going to be used to repatriate all those who fled to Dubai to avoid UK taxes.

And the government won’t do anything about it as higher price means more revenue in taxes for them.

We get through around 700 litres a year. Filled up in November, so we should be have enough to see us through next winter, then won't need too many more fills.

Get your tape measure out, hold your right thumb on 800mm, then put your left thumb on your age. Not much longer to keep your head down.

My sisters heating oil supplier is pretty good. They have an arrangement where if prices drop theyll nip round and fill up automatically.

Definitely missed the boat (so to speak) on a relatively cheap refill. But, we have 3 log burners and can heat the water tank through the immersion and its Spring now.
If we get a cold snap, we have the holiday cottage to fall back on which has LPG from an estate tank.
And there is always the van ;)

I managed to get in yesterday...you are caller number '80' in the queue and after 45 mins was told 76p ltr.

Today one of my customers called whilst i was there and was told they wouldn't even quote....only a 'rough' estimate @ £1.07 p/ltr but would be firmed up on delivery on two weeks.
