Non VW Infotainment Systems - Trouble / Error Code(s) - 03158

Hi,

While I’m using an Alpine Halo 9 unit, this issue might not be unique to that, hence the more generic thread name.

Does anyone who is not using a recognised compatible VW Infotainment system in their T6 see errors / codes when doing a scan ?

FYI - I do have the VW CANBUS adapter kit for the Alpine unit to go into my T6, all wiring has been checked, but I still see this error come up on Carista.

Code out 5F in gateway and change it to 56 you'll still receive an error in 56 saying it can't communicate but that's it.

Many thanks @Dav-Tec - please could you elaborate a little more on what doing this does, especially if it still returns an error (just a different one)

The van is basically complaining that it cant see/communicate with the factory headunit (because you removed it)
All vehicles with aftermarket headunits will have this logged
Look at is as an info code rather than an error code and everything will be ok
