No crank issue - starter wiring?

Hi
Got no cranking (been intermittent now nothing).
Glow plug lamp been coming on randomly for a while (no issues when lit- starts fine always). Carista has 03444 ign. Starter switch implausible signal and 14091 signal for starter lock short to gnd (both been there a while).
Anyone shed some light on the wiring so I can start troubleshooting? Got wiring diagrams but struggling to work out flow order (see pics)

Is it power to ign via 5a fuse then out on crank via 30a to both relays which power up if signals from control unit/s then live to starter via red wire to turn it over?

Yes ..

The IGN key to IMoB.

If all ok, then via relays to starter motor.

Starter POS is direct to the battery POS.

Have you got a good POS link? (I had a similar thing after the garage left the starter bolt loose)

Have you checked the GND?... Possible earth strap problem on engine.... Use a jumper cable from battery NEG to engine block to test.

As you as it's been intermittent that may imply a loose connection.

Test for good main POS.

Test for a good start signal at the SM.

Thanks for that- I did all the leads and earths and new battery when it first started. Seemed to improve starting a bit (was just slow starting and the coil light then). Then it didn’t start but would if you kept trying (rocking in gear no help). Did that a few times weeks apart getting longer to start each time. Then Thur just wouldn’t start. Tested yesterday good supply to starter (small lead) but only for about 1 sec each crank? I pulled, checked and replaced ALL fuses and checked wiring/fuses under passenger seat - one cable looked a bit pinched so I straightened that then IT STARTED. Now it’s running which I didn’t really want! Just hope I’ve actually done something rather than it’s another spurious event.

The T6 small start wire is electronic and controlled via the ECU.(Not the key held duration)

So have you lost a cam or crank signal?

Do you get any rpm in the dash?

A 1sec pulse may indicate that either the IMoB has kicked in.. or possibly the van is not seeing any RPM from the starter engagement.

The engine will run if it looses a signal.

So have you scanned for codes? Good rpm, cam, crank etc?

Just basic Carista as above but the 14091 has gone now. Got someone bringing another reader later that I’m hoping got more detail. Do you RPM on running or starting? Def ok running.
