Niche - any good solutions for securing a guitar

Pretty niche but has anyone come across any good solutions for carrying round a guitar. Got an acoustic which I don't mind slinging in the back, though also got a pretty expensive electric guitar, nicer to play and quieter, which is ideal when the little lad goes to sleep in the van and we're in the awning.

I've got a few wall hanging holders, though they definitely wouldn't be secure in the van. I've also got a flight case but that thing is pretty big.

Not sure if there is anything out there, or perhaps some good diy solutions?

Case instead of a gig bag and put a seatbelt around it. I wouldn't use any hanging solution as it is guaranteed to damage either the headstock or the body finish with the van bouncing. Just a thought, if you have a poptop would the electric sandwich in up there with a bit of padding?

Sound advice, I'm glad you suggested the pop top idea, I was thinking it myself but discounted it, i reckon I might give it ago, the electric is pretty flat so should be ok up top.

LOL don't try it with a Gibson

Yes, the puppy I wanna take with me is a Fender Strat Elite, probably not such a good idea.

Love Gibsons by the way, could only afford the Epiphone back in the day, very nice though... Gold Top.

Flat profile of the Fender should be safe enough, another thing that springs to mind is something like wrapping it inside a duvalay of a memory foam topper.

Don't know about guitars but Epiphone basses are stunning quality these days, I have an Epi thunderbird and it is every bit as good as the two Gibsons in my avatar

I wondered what they were leaning against the van, eyes not so good as they were

What about a custom rack for the equipment?
Make a moulding or utilise a case to create a fixed holder?

Stunning basses you got there. I reluctantly switched to bass in the band i play in, got myself Fender Jazz, thought it was the closest fretboard I could get to a guitar, I think might look around some more though, whats are yours like to play, are the big and bass like or closer to a guitar with the fret?

The birds are very like the jazz to play but the bottom of the neck feels a little further away. 34" scale just like the Fenders, they are a little neck heavy but a decent strap stops any neck dive, they are light too. The sound however is very different, darker, more sustain and angrier, just wonderful instruments but they are everything a Fender isn't
