For whatever reason, my van has a mobile Leisure Battery.
Maybe its a new invention, maybe it was just lazy on the previous owners part, but I find myself wanting to fix this situation, lest the battery become mobile in the event of an accident or just start touching things it shouldnt be when cornering fully laden.

would appreciate suggestions on whats best to do here.
I've found the angle bar and threaded bolts solutions on ebay, which i think i could brace the front corner to the back wall of the seat with a couple of drilled holes. I've also found this product below.
which looks good but also potentially a pain to fit. though i wonder if the holes at the front are suited to the two big bolts holding the seat base down.

also interested in how others have laid out their seat base installs, as i've got to put a DC-DC charger in there next.
thanks.

Ours is strapped down, with one of those simple roof rack type straps. If you can find something to link it to, then this takes up possible the least space.

Mine original had a small piece of aluminium riveted down and a webbing strap fitted by the converters, but I wasn’t happy with that, so fitted the metal tray like the one the OP linked to. Easy to fit. I riveted the non bolted end to the seat base, and used the seat bolts on the other end. Very secure.

I used 1 of those trays. Easy to fit. Hold the battery firmly in place.

ill get the tray ordered, thanks for the replies.
it looks well made, i suspected it might be OE style or a copy of. is under teh seat where VW put their leisure battery setup?

i used one of those battery trays too . . . with two webbing straps

see some pics here:

- VW OEM use a battery tray that bolted down, and a battery securing tab and bolt . . . . the same as the starter battery.

I made a box out of aluminium plates covered with thin neoprene foam, bolted in to the seat base, then used a camlock strap riveted at each end to hold the battery in place.

That great, but beyond my metalworking skills by the looks of it.

I need to find a new way for my current battery as it doesnt have the ridge bits at the bottom for the battery tray to grip on to :(

FYI:

Renogy Lithium 100Ah + Battery tray above (well now swapped it out for a bit of 6mm ply wood) + webbing straps + Neoprene sticky foam . . . .

I've had to come in, its too cold to do this all day. I've got the base plate for the dc charger built, but i think i want to look into a couple of bus bars for those connections. do we have a preferred choice of bus bar for use under a seat? i can see loads on ebay, but not many that come with a cover. i feel like a cover is a must.
these look good, but pricey?

I used a 3 pole busbar for collecting the common negative and positive wires under my seat, you can just see the negative one in the second picture of mine above.
