New bamboo worktop how to remove marks

This is my brand new bamboo worktop which is not sealed yet. I test fitted the sink/hob not noticing the grease on the hinges which I got on my hands and then subsequently on the worktop. Will they sand out? I’m worried that because it’s grease rather than water that it likely won’t be possible.

Also, what are you sealing yours with? I’m thinking Osmo but not sure on matt or satin.

Bit of methylated spirits, obviously don't soak it and turn the bamboo purple but a light solvent that'll dilute the grease mark.
You won't be able to draw it out of the bamboo but should get rid of the excess stuff nearest the surface and spread it out over a wider area to lessen the dark spot.
As for Osmo, satin or Matt, yes as there is no best finish but figure what you're trying to pair the worktop with and then do what the wife tells you.

How about placing some kitchen paper over the spill and use a low heat iron to draw as much of the spill into the paper before using a non staining solvent.
Getting as much off the wood before the inevitable dispersing with solvent may reduce the staining.
