I want to buy the California brushed silver trim pieces and noticed they have various options, one of which is 'without 3 buttons' so I think it would be neater if I can get that one, and move the traction control button to underneath the front window defog button. The button is the same shape, so it should be in theory possible right?

Trying and see? I suspect there wont be enough length in the loom to extend it that far.

Yeah suspect no one has tried it, extending the loom will be one thing, but as for physically removing a blank button and fitting an actual one?

I have got the trim without the buttons, mainly as the dealer ordered the wrong part. The button is now tucked behind out of use.
Anyway, I added a shortcut on the infotainment drop down for the TCS so can still access it fairly quickly rather than going through all the menus.

Which one did you order? You have a picture? Looking at either the brushed silver or the pewter wave.

Thats a good idea - i'll let you know if i find I can move the button to the centre of the dash. I have loads of poverty spec blanks in there!

I got the brushed silver ones. I wish I had done the caravelle colour trim too kind as did the whole lower dash and door cards.
Did the window switches and all the gloss black bits.
Depending on your infotainment if you drag down and press and hold the icons you can change them all

Thats awesome thank you, exactly the look i am going for. I did notice i could do the black plastic option as well and perhaps follow that over to the passenger side. Also intrigued what the 'grey wood' option looks like, but can't find any images of it.

Not heard of grey wood, but someone on here did get the normal wood one and posted it. Didn't look too bad.

Yes, you can't but them separately unfortunately. Plus they are plastic welded in.
May be able find some from a breakers.
The door cards were about £260 each and the metal effect trim a further £90 odd each. Crazy.

Do you have the part numbers of the buttons with the satin chrome centre sections? Thank you

Depending on your configuration they are here:

Need to be careful though as the centre ones for stop start/pdc and heated screen are a different shape for LHD or RHD. I can't be sure from there which are which. I think 7L2 prefix is for RHD.
Best off getting a califonia reg number and going to the dealer to confirm.
Can I presume the traction button is the same for both LHD and RHD?

Yes, I'd say so. They are all prefixed 7LA which is generic T6.1.
Looking on ebay all the non chrome ones are all 7LA and don't appear to be sided.
I cheaped out on mine, double sided tape and tin foil :slow rofl:

You wouldn’t notice it to be fair. Does the small plastic part come off, or is it plastic welded in place?

That's all part of it from memory. You could probably pop the buttons off to make it easier. I did mine a few years ago and still holding up and only if you look directly at them you may notice if not oem

Oh, I meant to say. For the TCS buttons, the chrome strip is on the buttons, where as the black existing strip is on the surround that holds the buttons in place, so I don't think you can just add those buttons to a plain, non pewter/brushed chrome trim.

That makes sense. The sportlines I’ve looked at don’t seem to have this button changes over and I couldn’t work out why.
I don’t suppose anyone has the part number for the surround
