The T6 California's battery boost button (often called "Max Charge" or similar). My question is could this function be retrofitted to my T6.1 as a way of uping the charge away from the 80% forced on us so I can get to a campsite fully charged.
Sorry if its been discust before.

Are you talking about the leisure battery? If so, you need a DC-DC charger to get it fully charged - loads of advice on the forum about those.

As far as I can tell the boost function boost the starter and the leisure battery. I have a b2b fitted but on camp sites opening and closing doors all day seems to eataway at the starter and soon pulls it down.

Oh I see, in that case if you're on hook up maybe consider a trickle charger for the starter battery? If you really want to arrive with the starter at 100% though, I'm not sure how to do that - maybe it's configurable in VCDS etc but I've never seen it discussed. Possibly pulling the power cable to the shunt on the starter negative might achieve what you want but that might have other less desirable side effects...

The majority of our trips out don't have electric hook up and just thought it would be a neat feature to have.

Yeah, I've never read about anyone installed a magic button to achieve that.

We also almost never use EHU and we've never had an issue with the starter running down too much. We do have a 250w solar panel with trickle charge so for the trips we tend to do that's enough to keep the starter topped up enough for the doors etc. How are you actually powering things if you're off EHU, do you have solar too?

Interested and following. I don't use hook up, no B2B, solar only for leisure battery, can also charge SB with solar if necessary (but depends on it being sunny of course).

Got a jump starter box for just in case.

Edit: and silly electric sliding doors.
