MFSW button mapping

Right I’ve searched the forum but found nothing conclusive for my year and spec of van.

Just installed the LIN wire from the retrofitted MFSW to pin 36 on the BCM.

I have installed a polo airbag wiring harness, I have no errors and have activated everything in VCDS.

The issue I am seeing is that when I go to use the buttons to control the head unit, only the OK button seems to work and this turns down the volume, but that’s it.

I have checked with VCDS, all of the outputs on the steering wheel are working correctly, but not giving the correct signals to my headunit.

My van is 2017 startline, and the steering wheel was from a polo from what I understand.

Anyone have any ideas?

Right so buttons turned up and they do not fit my steering wheel.

Do you have any part numbers for the buttons you have?

1 - post vcds autoscan
that buttons are also ok if your code ECU to be compatybile with Limiter
with CNL is fine too

1 - your cluster is MFA+ or basisc ?
2 - before you add MFSW - how you operate cluster , over TRIP computer buttons ?
3 - when you add MFSW - did you remove trip computer buttons ?

replay under each my question

1 - your cluster is MFA+ or basisc ?
Basic cluster
2 - before you add MFSW - how you operate cluster , over TRIP computer buttons ?
Yes trip computer buttons.
3 - when you add MFSW - did you remove trip computer buttons ?
No trip computer buttons still on the end of the stalk.

so BASIC cluster not support scrolling over MFSW
To keep MFSW - you need remove TRIP button stalk
otherwise , even with proper cluster , cluster might freak out when you start operate it over buttons ofrom MFSW , because commands NOT this same

so is no point to buy another MFSW buttons

I’m not looking to control the cluster with the MFSW, all I am interested in is the control of the audio and possibly cruise control. The audio control mapping doesn’t work correctly, ‘OK’ turns down the volume and that is it. I have seen on other posts that someone had the same issue using the same buttons I have and changed the buttons to the ones I have ordered and it corrected the problem. I have not run the wire from the MFSW to the ECU yet until I can confirm that I have / had the correct switches.

i had lowline cluster fitted mfsw all works and kept the trip buttons, trip just over rides the mfsw if used just have to restart and its fine again lol
