Ok so this is my 1st post on here and need some recommendations about lowering, I don’t want to go crazy and lower it to much, just enough so there is about a 2 inch gap from top of tyre to the wheel arch, thanks guys

Welcome.
Suspension, Steering, Brakes contains a couple of years reading on the subject.
There are some trade suspension specialists on the Forum who have a wealth of knowledge.
Plus a couple of thousand different opinions as you might expect.

Looks like you're running 20's there so the max you can really go while keeping the standard shocks is -45mm springs. These will be a little crashy with the 20's but not too bad but are very much at the compromise end of things. To get excellent ride quality you need to spend decent money and look at matched springs and shocks kits like Koni, H&R, Bilstein or quality coilovers from the same names and SoLow which have 3 different offerings depending on what drop you want. If you go this route then worthwhile checking and replacing any suspension components not up to scratch like wishbones, tie rods, bearings, top mount, top plate, drop links and antiroll bar bushes. The use and type of van you have will help determine what you need, T28/T30/T32, camper, commerical etc. A word of warning ... if you go to all the trouble of replacing springs you might find that very soon the van still is not low enough you'll be wishing you went for coilovers ... ask me how I know

Much appreciated Bent5👍👍 they are 18s, don’t know if that extra 2 inches make a difference, well that’s what my mrs says 🤣

Welcome along, Straight in with one of the most debated topics in motoring history , well done ha ha

Our points of view on suspension often differ to other suspension companies and the products we sell definitely offer a more varied choice . we do approx 100 transporter vans a month so we do have the reputation and Knowledge to give you sound advise if you wish to call us to discuss this .

Its Harder to make the van look lower with 18 inch as the gap around the wheel is bigger . generally people run 20 s as it fills the arch better and makes the vehicle look lower than it is . A 50 mm ( 2 inch ) drop will get it looking much nicer and riding beautiful if you chose the correct kit . 50 mm is better with a Sport shock kit and matching springs . Our Definition kit is the one to consider , 20 different combinations of spring so we can get the perfect result, at the height you want , options for extra weight of course in case its a camper or heavy van . "Stance adjustable" rear spring platforms to keep the van dead level .
You dont need a coil over kit to do this well in my opinion ! We do however have a range of coil over options but these dont ride as well due to the height they run down to .
Happy hunting

True but that assumes you're happy with the front height which is usually where the saga begins and later ends with the aforementioned coilovers

Super low vans aren't for everyone and 70 % of the 100 vans a month we do DONT get coil overs ,

The Transporter market and many suppliers are obsessed with coil over kits, we arent !! ha ha

Your van looks awesome 😎
I have looked at Stance proline and rightly or wrongly been put off by their cheap price, like I say, I'm really unsure of that's right or not but £400 for a full set seems ridiculously cheap!
Has anyone else got an opinion at all on the Stance Proline kits?

Iv got the stance street on front which is £400 for full kit but found the rear shocks were not very good for my van as it’s a t32 and I carry weight sometimes do I changed rear for stance proline rear which are hight adjustable and stiffer the cost £199 but full proline kit cost £600 Iv had them on my van for a while now and haven’t had any problems other than the rear being a bit softer than I needed I know a lot of people go for the so low or van slam

Also I have got mine very low iv got a machined top mounts on the front with t6 top mount bush which allows for anther 26/20mm lower and a rear adjuster delete with adjustable shocks u can buy the kits to go lower from transporter HQ they are really helpful too

I’ve a mate who runs Stance+ on his T5.1 wound all the way down and it’s not bad actually.
It’s very crashy and you need to avoid pot holes/speed bumps.

But for the money/how low it is it’s not bad.

You can lower a van quite reasonably on top marque coilovers and ittl ride better than standard suspension. But you’re upto a couple of grand fitted.

I plumped for MTS Technic coilovers (waited for Darkside Black Friday sale) and they’re excellent, better than B14s in my opinion.

But suspension is very subjective… you need to drive a few vans with various suspension setups first and see what works for you,
