Lancaster Motorhomes & Caravans

This sounds terrible.
Can I suggest whenever you pay a deposit for anything, use a credit card. This way you can do a charge back on the retailer if the goods are not as described, and although difficult in the case of vehicles it’s still a (relatively) easy process.
You don’t even have to use a CC for the full amount, if it’s say £2k pay £500 on CC and that’s you covered for the whole lot.

Honestly the guy who runs it is like a child, he threatens to send you a letter from a solicitor as you have signed terms and conditions, his sister and her husband Ben are barristers in London and when you dig deeper it’s the same Ben Heaviside that has left 5* google reviews for them. Google won’t remove fake reviews though it seems.

The whole family left themselves 5* reviews on trust pilot but luckily trust pilot removed them after a number of complaints from customers who have had problems with them.

The main thing is get an AA report done it might cost you a few hundred quid but you will get a genuine report on the vehicle and you’ll then know whether it’s worth putting a deposit down on it.

Even if you cc the deposit they will fight it if you have signed the terms and conditions which they are really strict on and try to rush you to just sign.

If the retailer refuses to refund the deposit after the escalation to the CC company the bank will AUTOMATICALLY take the funds from their account. They don’t have the option to fight it. I know this from experience on both ends of the spectrum 😁

It’s best to not get involved with this firm I think, there is too much bad feedback from customers

They won't be barristers for long if they are leaving fraudulent reviews on the interweb.

It’s crazy isn’t it, and it’ll be the directors (family) that are asking the son in law (barrister) to do it. They have no respect for even their own family members. What hope does a customer have 😔😳

I think the screenshots of the reviews are posted earlier in this thread.

I’m sure at least one person has contacted the CMA about the fake reviews but you know what these bodies are like it might take multiple complaints before they investigate.

I did a check online about Tim and Anthony to see if they were real and Anthony (shaw) comes back with interesting reading 😳
