Kombi step light - turning off and current drain

The lights on my Kombi step come on when the doors are open (twin slider, one light per side). I can turn off the normal interior lights that are triggered by the doors but can't seem to do the same for the lights in the steps

Is there a way to turn them off?

Also, anyone know what sort of current drain they put on the battery. Wondering how long I could sit with the doors open before getting to any problematic current drain levels

If I changed this for LED I guess this would reduce the current drain

No you can’t turn them off
There is a time limit built into the interior light circuit so the feed times out after a while a shuts them down

Turn off in about 12 minutes? Open a door will re-start the timer.

It’s adjustable with VCDS should the need arise and yes an led lamp will reduce the load (but also make it a lot brighter)
