Jump starting from Power Bank, van has stop/start.

My battery was getting a bit low, so I tried to use my power bank to help it start. With it having stop start I didn't want to attach the negative to the battery, but when I earthed it onto the body the lights on the unit showed a fault. So I gave up & jump started from the car.
Has anyone had any experience of using a power bank on a stop start?

using an emergency jump leads or jump starter is OK across the battery...


its just chargers and the like plus hardwired cabling that shouldn't bridge the battery sensor . . .

what jump pack did you try to use?

It's a Clarke one from Machine Mart. Should be good for 3ltr Diesel or 6ltr Petrol.

From reading some other threads I'm going to see if I can improve the earthing on the bolt heads between the battery & the back of the headlight.

that one might be a bit under powered to start a Flat T6 2.0L diesel? . . . .

if the T6 is very low battery, that jump pack will just discharge into the flat battery not leaving enough power to start it.

it would be interesting to see if it can start a cold T6.?

The van battery was reading 11.8v
The issue was that I was getting the fault light on the led on the leads. So I didn't even try to start it with it.
