Still at Nube campsite in Sorrento. Think we will stay until Monday then drive over to Bari for the ferry to Croatia.
Site is nice. Has a good pizzeria and great views and a nice pool.
Off on a boat trip to Positano and Amalfi today. Must remember to take a van pic later.

This is our pitch at Nube d’Argento. Pretty wide -from tree to tree in the pic. Great site with short walk into Sorrento town and direct access steps down to the little harbour with plenty of bars and cafes.
Ah brilliant, I stayed at that campsite about 15 years ago ! Beautiful around there I went with an Italian mate and somehow we hired/blagged a speedboat from positsano beach and had a great day out to capri on it ! Happy days thanks for posting brought back some happy travel memories !
We’ve done 4 nights. Not paid yet but I think it’s about €47 plus tax, but worth it for the view and location and facilities.
Off to Bari later then booked on tomorrow’s crossing to Dubrovnik.

@Bigsidavies. I've been posting the odd update on the 'Where have you been' page but admit I've been a bit tardy due to holiday brain. We're currently at Arena Stoja Camp near Pula - it's been a few years since we were down this way and we want to revisit (today) the amphitheatre as it's had a fair bit of work done on it over the last few years (I'm an ampitheatre nerd!). Probably heading for a car ferry to Cres on Tuesday for a drive down the length of the island and over the bridge to Losinj for a few days. Most campsites in Croatia are now charging ACSI rates which makes pitch fees a bit less eye watering. If you've not booked anything, I hear good things about Camping Kate it's on the outskirts of Dubrovnik and you can get there easily by bus. Another top tip would be buy a data package on the ferry if you want to stay online. Roaming charges at sea can break the bank!
1000s of years behind schedule, redundant for today’s needs and costing an arm and a leg (probably literally back in the day). Do they have the HS2 team on it then?

I bought the ACSI for the first time for this trip and it paid for itself at camping Zeus in Pompeii. Took it from €50 to €25 pn, so €50 saved on 2 nights. I’ll be choosing all the ACSI sites from now on lol.
There was an ACSI at Sorrento but it was a bit far out and I wanted the location so paid the price. That Nube came in at €44 including the tourist tax so happy with that because the site was just perfect for us in every way. Location, pool, view, short walk to centre of town, pizzeria, fresh bread in the morning, etc etc.
@Bigsidavies. IIRC, the only other site close to Dubrovnik is one that we have stayed at - Camping Pod Maslimon (or similar!). It was OK as a site but miles from anywhere so I wouldn't recommend it. A couple of restaurants down the road offer a free taxi service but the one that we went to wasn't really up to much.
Think we are going to book in at camping Kate. Looks ace. cheers dude.

We left Sorrento and drove over toward Bari on Monday. Decided not to stay over at Bari and found a place called Acquaviva delle Fonte about 30 minutes away.
Has a free motorhome aire within 15 minutes walk of the centre too.
Wow, stunning little place, real Italy. Town square was stunning
We had a couple of beers but had eaten at the van late afternoon.
Anyway, early evening the town square transformed. Loads of tables were put out from various restaurants and I found an amazing pizza restaurant. So we stayed in the square for a few beers and then got a table.
Turned out to be one of the best evenings of the holiday so far. Place was buzzing, Italy were on the telly playing oikball too.
Had a game of pizza surprise as everything was in Italian. Amazing pizza, and couldn’t have my last night in Italy without a pizza.
Has a free motorhome aire within 15 minutes walk of the centre too.

Tuesday and we are on the Jadrolinija ferry to Dubrovnik. Wasn’t looking forward to 8 1/2 hours on a ferry tbh, but the boat is fantastic. Sun bar on the top deck, another open deck grill bar, everything inside looks new.
Getting on board was as chaotic as everything else in Italy. For a nation created out of the inventiveness and organisation of the Romans the place is just a clusterf**k. They’ve managed to create chaos out of order-with everything. From driving, to getting tickets, to entering tourist attractions, to booking in at a ferry port. They seem to thrive on chaos.
Anyway, here’s a pic of where I now at the Sun Bar. Waiting for the BBQ to begin. But the sun has just gone in.

Top ferry tip for anyone in the future. Booking as a ‘campervan’ gives dimensions akin to a motorhome.
Booking as a car gives you a drop-down for vehicle make, then choosing VW gives a drop-down that includes several T6.1 variants. So I chose T6.1 multivan and saved £40 without any problems. Lady at ticket office inspected our V5 which clearly shows panel van and gave us our boarding passes. Boom.

Theirsday the weather improved and we moved to Camping Kate. Thanks to Ayjay. Nice site, and direct access to steps down to the harbour at Mlini.

Friday was blazing sun so we jumped the bus to Dubrovnik and hit the city walls (€40 EACH) but as a tight Yorkshireman it was actually worth it. The place is stunning. Took 3 hours to walk the wall.
Then down into the old town-which is probably one of the most amazing old town places I’ve ever been. Simply mind blowing.
Headed back to site, did some chicken fillet and burgers on the cadac then hit Mlini harbour again for the night.

Saturday we went to Cavtat, which is simply beautiful. Quiet little harbour but some big yachts in there and loads of harbour restaurants and a nice walk round the headland revealed a nice bar in the shade of the trees overlooking a little beach.
Then in the evening we jumped the bus back to Dubrovnik to have a few beers in the old town after dark to see it all lit up.
Was stunning, but hard to find a bar-all restaurants.

Stayed 3 nights at camping Kate and left Sunday morning. Decided on a beach day so headed to Camping Sunce in Zulyana. It’s essentially
In the back garden of a b&b run by a lovely old lady. The site has space for about 6 small vans and a couple of tents. But it’s fantastic and has really decent shower block and washing area and a few steps down to the beach.
Had an afternoon swimming and chilling on the stoney beach. Took some sandwiches and beer/wine.
Then nice shower and down to a little beach bar for the sunset. Which is where we are now.
