Interior Overhead Roof Console / Cubby Hole Swap

So this is my overhead centre console in my 2019 T6.1.
I want to reclaim the dash cupholder that has been taken over by spectacles and sunglasses.
How does this cover pop out please?

I have exactly same, but still not yet upgraded. I don't like the idea of having different colour but I think, I've found the part no. from T5: 7E7868438. Question is only: will this match the "curve" like the old one...?

Even if you pop that out there won’t be enough room for sunglasses.

You mean that console won't fit or the sunglasses area is generally too small? I had this in my previous T5 - indeed hole was so small that not all glasses fit, however I'm my case I have totally crazy idea to keep sth else there

I mean there is no room because of the electrics behind the panel.
