Started my T6.1, it almost instantly went into a regen. Engine is cold, it's sat at 1000rpm and the VAGDPF doesn't even show it as being at 100% yet... Anyone seen this before?

I had the same on mine after an occasion where I had to turn off the engine during a regen. Sadly I didn't have my vag dpf at the time. 2 hours of switch off before starting again, straight into regen with a very cool engine.

Yeah, it can do that sometimes. Usually it just means a regen was already underway before you last switched it off, so when you start it again it just carries on—even if the engine’s still cold.

Short trips tend to make it happen more often too, as the DPF doesn’t really get a proper chance to clear itself.

If it’s only now and then, I wouldn’t stress about it. If it’s happening every time from cold though, then it might be worth digging a bit deeper 👍

If the van was switched off while doing a regen, it will restart on the next drive cycle and complete.... It will get the engine up to temperature very quickly.
