How do I get the rear wiper off?

Use a wiper puller.

Might just cut it off (I’m installing a wiper delete kit)

They are a couple of quid on ebay.
If you don‘t damage the spindle the wiper motor unit will have resale value.

I've been thinking about deleting my rear wiper, for one my Reimo 3000 bed almost completely obscures any view out of the rear window, and secondly I've never used the rear wiper on any vehicle that I've owned because I don't think it's a good idea to be scraping all that road grit across the glass.
Looking at your pic' it looks so much cleaner (no pun intended) without it, care to share what you did about the rear washer tube? can you disable the motor by simply pulling a fuse?

I screwed a self tapper into the hose and used some of the black sealant on the scre threads.

I cut mine off both times it broke on my Passat. The new replacement just goes over. But I put copper grease to try to stop it corroding and seizing in future. Doesn't always work though.
