hpfp has failed and contaminated the fuel system. My question is . I had a fuel inspection test at the start and the result was that the fuel was clear . Would the fuel test show if the system was contaminated with metal ?

No.
If the high pressure fuel pump is failed.
It will have contaminated the fuel lines.
potentially in the return lines back to the tank so you need a tank flush. Pipeline flush. You fuel filter.
The injectors will need to be tested. Is one or more of them maybe damaged.
And you need to know HPFP.
The OEM and main dealer option is to replace the tank and fuel lines etc.
Button aftermarket garage we're walked for flashing through the pipelines and tank.
