Hi All,

I'm an Industrial designer from Manchester - I'm here with the hope to own a VW Transporter, but not only that, I want to design and create new ways in which the community can customise their Transporters. I'm looking for inspiration, owners input and passionate feedback in order to get creative and start designing!

My experience with VW's and ownership is mostly through owning a Mk1 Jetta (Diesel - one of only 4 left in the UK, and the only one on the road!) which has been treated much like a 'Transporter' to adventure, tow, commute and use as a workhorse for the past 10 years.

I'm new to forums, I'm not a words guy but I'm willing to learn How do you think would be best to get feedback on area's most people want to see more options in customisation, or ideas that people want to be able to buy for their Transporters? I'm also looking to find out people's budgets, as I can see there is a great spectrum of investment made to customise your Transporters!

Hi all,

Greetings from a Manchester based forum newb. I'm not new to Transporters though, this is my second. It's a 2016 T6 T28 BMT Highline PV. I'm a builder, so it's very much a working van and will remain so. Only mod so far is a set of T32 springs to replace the lowering springs that were on it!

I've got a need to fit some electrics into it, so I will take myself away to the forum...

Hi All

Previously (many years ago) owned a t4 builders van camper conversion. It was very rough and purchased off eBay from the south coast … was very disappointed when the guy dropped off, but felt obligated to proceed. Learnt a lot doing it up …

Then a growing family and bigger house meant it had to go..well after all those years, the desire to get another never went away.

Bought a 2nd hand t6 conversion a week ago and due to collect next weekend. So been on here (quietly) looking for pro tips and lots of information. Thanks all and maybe see you out and about!

Few things in the future
Remap
Suspension
Diesel heater (possibly) as we’ll tow the caravan if any long weekends or weeks away
Possibly front spoiler - not sure yet

After wanting one for so many years the stars aligned and I have bought myself a lovely T5.1. She was part converted and the lad I bought it from had run out of budget. I am going to aim for the swamper look with a day van internal. Ready for gravel bike adventures and all being well some remote working. Can't wait to get out for the weekend, albeit on a camping mattress in the back!
