My lads van had a bit of a fit this morning, EU5 T6. EML & glow plug lights came on, went into limp mode, gears not changing properly. Turned off and back on, run ok, no lights.
A few hiccups during the day, put on VCDS when he got back, gave these codes:-

He has just driven it home, DSG not happy in auto but works fine in manual.
Any ideas where to start would be appreciated.
TIA

All three likely of same origin - see time stamps.

Communication between gearbox and gear selector?

Full scan could be useful, and certainly essential to locate relevant wiring diagram.

Thanks for your thoughts. I did a full scan, that's what I took the text from, file attached. Any help gratefully accepted!
Andy.

Does the backlight of gear selector symbols (P/R/D) work? - Just a simple check to verify that connector T10an of E313 is (at least partially) in place.

Another easy to do diagnostics would be to exctract measurement blockmaps of 01-Engine, 02-Transmission and 17-Instruments so could check for any irregularities in communications. However, at this point probably won't give any more clues but might be useful as future reference.... so definitely would be appreciated.

VCDS -> Applications -> Controller Channel Map ->

1623914518998.png

Tick/fill boxes as above (Single controller addresses 01 02, and 17) and hit Go
When done there will be files blockmap-XX-YYYY....CSV in directory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs\....

I once threw some major faults on mine when I slammed it into sport (pre-TVS ;) ) for a quick overtake and then going back to D I went too far briefly hit N then back to D and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I had to pull over later and do a quick reset with Carista. So it's possible the selector switches can cause a muddle, I would look at the measuring blocks to see if you can see if the module can see where the selector is etc.

Engine speed: 1291.00 /min
Vehicle speed: 255 km/h

..... that's some gearing fitted too .... barely past tickover at 160mph :uh run:

So max possible reportable speed is 2^8 KM/H. Who knew. I guess the Porkers and Bugattis have more than 8 bits for the speed measurement. :D
