Heated windscreen not working

Hi,

In recent weeks we have noticed that the left hand side of our heated windscreen has stopped demisting/de-icing. One strip does but that’s it. Right side works fine.

A garage diagnostic while van was being repaired after we were hit by another vehicle showed that there is an error on the climate control module saying “function limitation due to energy management.”

Is only solution to replace windscreen? Van (6.1) is only 5yrs old.

As long as you have a voltage at the screen ribbon in the scuttle panel area, and the ribbon isn't damaged.. Then yes, the only solution is to replace the windscreen.
