H7 Headlamp - W21W DRL Bulb Issue. Be Aware
I'd been having an intermittent fault with the off side DRL for a while. As soon as I put my fingers on the bulb holder, it would turn back on for a short time. However, eventually it packed up altogether. So I removed it and discovered this.... The contacts were blackened and the plastic...
I may a bit paranoid but quite a few adds around with the same pictures:

I do post those I see on Ebay, but if course I can't vouch for any of the sellers.
Headlights arrived today. Have been a bit dirty but a polish and a bit of elbow grease sorted it.
One little scratch on the driver side but nothing that my 2019 van wouldn't have anyway.
Night breakers are installed (4x). Will do a bench check tomorrow before I drop the bumper.
First impression - not bad for £65 incl. shipping - let's hope the light up tomorrow - it's version E.

Bench check extended. All Night breakers are working and the DRL´s are Osram´s as well.

An original set here, around £115 delivered. Ignore the blurb, they won't fit a T5 or T5.1 !!!!
I can see there's a bit of a difference in cost here but why do people go for these rather than just opting for full led ?
With our t5.1 I swapped out our commercial H4 lights for the caravelle versions to improve them but they still ain't great if I'm honest even with upgraded bulbs .

I have bought these.
I have a 2018 t6 with h4s. I am new to owning a transporter and have managed to confuse myself - i have tried to find an idiots guide. Will these an easy swap in terms of error lights/ messages?

I find them adequate with uprated bulbs.
I can't justify the extra cost of LEDs. Not even the new THQ ones.
But then, I've never driven a car with LEDs so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.
Hi Dave. This thread is specifically for the T6, as the base headlights have H4 bulbs and are as much use as a matchstick in a Force 9 gale.
The H7 headlights for the T6 were often standard on Shuttles and Caravelles, and are a significant upgrade over the H4s.
The T6.1 came with H7s as standard, seems that VW do listen sometimes.
A 'D' and an 'E' revision, so may need DRLs wiring at some point. LED bulbs?? Collection only form London.

One of the drl’s was faulty so a genuine vw part has been fitted, working perfectly now!
One of the rear dust covers is missing, but I’m lead to believe that a standard headlight cover fits.
Collection Forest of Dean or could post at buyers expense.
